Netball

Well done to the S1s who played a friendly against a newly formed John Paul Academy team last night. The team played well together with a couple of players trying out new positions for the first time. The score was SGG 15-1 with Caitlin Watt top goal scorer on the day. Eilidh McDougall played very strongly at Centre in only her second game there, she usually plays Goal Defence.

The S3/4 Team played their final fixture of their Glasgow Netball League. The team although playing their final game was a new team with 4 players playing their first game this year. With the majority of the S4s doing homework this opened up positions for the S3s to come in and get some competitive experience. The 4 new faces have been working hard in training and deserved their spot on the team. The team line up was:

Christy GK
Frances GD
Rebecca WD
Lauren C
Karen WA
Tammy GA
Yvonne GS

The girls played well throughout the game and won 17-2. Lauren was Girl of the Game for her combination of quick movement off the ball and her linking play from defence to attack. She also played the last quarter at GA and scored 5 points.

Next focus is now Friday and the Glasgow Netball Tournament. The school is sending 3 teams along to the competition with S1, S2 and S3/4 teams.
