Olive selected as Netball Ambassador
Congratulations to Olive S4 who was selected as a Netball Scotland Ambassador. She was one of 15 girls selected out of over 60 applicants. Olive has been a fantastic ambassador for Sgoil Ghà idhlig Ghlaschu over the years and we have no doubt that she will be excellent in her new national role! Congratulations Olive!

Sponsored 5km 2021
You are invited to take part in the Sgoil Ghà idhlig Ghlaschu Sponsored 5km 2021. This 5k is to be done within your local area, following Government guidelines, at any time during 30th April to 3rd May. We would like as many people as possible to get involved - staff, pupils, parents. Please encourage your friends and family to sign up, get out training and fundraise over the next 6 weeks. Pace does not matter; you can go as fast or as slow as you like, it is up to you how you complete the distance.
We are raising money for the following charities:
Trussell Trust - stop UK hunger - https://www.trusselltrust.org/what-we-do/
MacMillan cancer support - https://www.macmillan.org.uk/
SAMH - for Scotland's mental health - https://www.samh.org.uk/
Asthma UK - asthma research and support - https://www.asthma.org.uk/scotland
All four of these charities are close to our hearts and we feel they play a crucial role in helping provide support for people in times of need. The total raised will be split equally between the four charities. I have attached a sponsorship form for you to record your donations. I have looked into options to donate electronically however the only feasible way to do this is with cash.
Please bring all money raised to me on Tuesday 4th of May in an envelope marked SGG 5K with the participants name and total. I will be in the tà lla spòrs from 8.45 am - 9.00 am, morning Interval 10.50-11.05am and lunchtime 1.00-1.20pm.
Here are a couple of websites to get you ready for the big day:

To record your training you could download strava onto a smartphone for free. Our online club is called Glasgow Gaelic School which you can join. Another app for recording time, distance and speed is mapmyrun.

We would love to create a display of all the 5km participants on our notice board so please send me your photos by email or take them along with your sponsorship money.
If you have any questions about anything then please don't hesitate to contact me.
Have fun and good luck

Personal Development Programme 2
Here is the next lot of training for you which will last you until we get back to school. Follow the programme that suits your fitness best. If you do find something too challenging at any time then do the easier programme option. Alternatively, if you find something too easy then do the more challenging option. Base what you do on how you feel on the day. As ever if you have any questions please get in touch. Let me know how you’re getting on. It’s been great to hear that so many of you are keeping active during lockdown. Keep up the good work!
