Scottish Schools Indoor Athletics Championships
Erin Moran, Eilidh McDougall and Jacob Connelly all competed at the Scottish Schools Indoor Athletics Championships early February. This was the first team the school had ever sent to this event. Eilidh ran extremely well in both the 60m and 200m, her first ever races indoors. Not only did she qualify for the semi finals of the events at u16 level (she's only 13) she also recorded the 11th fastest time in Scotland for both events. Erin competed in the 300m and 200m. She performed very well, particularly in the 300m where she made the semi final and recorded the 14th fastest time in Scotland. Jacob who just missed out on the u16 age group was up against some experienced older athletes. Never to shy away from competition he performed exceptionally well to record 56 seconds for the 400m which was 3 second personal best! Jacob took some motivation from his performances and we're glad to hear he had joined his local athletics club. We look forward to seeing how Jacob and the girls get on in the summer season.
