S2-4s Win Glasgow Schools League

We entered two Glasgow Schools’ Netball League Competitions this year and we won them both. Our S2-4 Team won the S3/4 Glasgow Schools League Title. A second title in a row for Sophie, Iris, Alexia and Mairi who won the S1 trophy last year and a first trophy for our S3s and S4’s which is just rewards for such dedication and effort over the last few years! Well done team!

S1s win Glasgow Schools League Title

SGG have made he two in a row. Last years S1s won the Glasgow Schools League title and so have the current crop of S1s. A huge congratulations to the team for playing such amazing netball on finals night! Next year we are going to skip the S2 league and go into the S3/4 league instead. 

S2-4 Netball Team into the Glasgow League Final

After a great performance from the team in 3 out of 4 quarters of the semi final SGG S2-4 Team are through to the Glasgow Schools League Final. This match will be against All Saints Secondary at SGG on Monday 15th April. With the S1 Scottish Cup final on that week the first week back of the holidays is going to be a great week of experience for the two teams.

S2-4 Netball Team into the Semi Finals

Our S2-4 Netball Team are into the S3/4 Glasgow a league Semi-finals. They are playing a tough opponent in Holyrood S4’s in a home semi final next week. Good luck to the team. All the best to the squad of 12.  

S1s into the Glasgow League Final

And…the S1 girls qualify for the Glasgow League Final! After wrapping up all their league games the girls now wait for the winner of league 2 to see who they play in the final. Well done team! 

S1s are into the SCOTTISH CUP FINAL

History made - the S1s become the first sports team from SGG to qualify for a Scottish Cup Final. The girls played their semi final this week and put in their best display of the season to secure their final place at the Emirates Arena on April 19th 2024! Superb news and a huge congratulations to the players. Enjoy the final experience!

All 4 Netball Teams make the Scottish Cup Quarter Finals

Well they’ve done it! For the first time in SGG’s history, all 4 teams have progressed into the Quarter Finals of the Scottish Cup and, were the only School in Scotland to have done so! What an absolutely outstanding achievement from the players involved! Netball started in the school 10 years ago and to get to this major achievement is something which back then it would never have seemed likely of achievable. Top 8 teams in Scotland at every single age group competition, that really is front page news for our school! Good luck in the Quarter Finals to all our teams!

Scottish Cup Netball

We have 8 days of exciting netball fixtures coming up. All 4 teams have progressed in all Cup Competitions of the Scottish Cup. Only 2 other schools in Scotland have achieved this feat! A huge congratulations to all the players involved for achieving such an accolade! The S3s play tomorrow, the S2s Tuesday, the S1s Friday and the Seniors the following Monday! All the best to everyone involved! Enjoy every minute!

Cross-Country is back

Happy New Year to you! And what better way to celebrate the new year than to do some cross-country running in core PE! Weather looks cold this week so please come to class dressed for winter. 

Netball Success

A huge congratulations to the s2 and senior netball teams for progressing to the next round of the Scottish Cup Knockout stages. The S2s player Dunblane High School Away and the Seniors played Hillparkat home. They now wait to see who they will play in the next round.
