Giant Heptathlon Team 2020

Congratulations to the following pupils who have been selected for the Glasgow Schools’ Giant Heptathlon 2020. This event attracts schools from across the city to take part in a team event. Each school will have a team consisting of 7 boys and 7 girls who will each take part in 7 indoor athletics events. Each team members result from each of the events counts towards the team total. The events are:

Shot Putt

Javelin

Long Jump

Standing Triple Jump

We wish this year’s team all the best for what is an excellent Glasgow Schools’ Competition. 

SGG Cross-Country Championships 2020

Our annual school cross-country championships takes place on Thursday 13th February. The girls race will take place period 1 and the boys race period 2. All pupils are to come into school ready to run but make sure and bring your school uniform with you to change into afterwards. The course is likely to be muddy, you can wear spikes if you have them, if not we recommend you wear old trainers. In addition you should bring a carrier bag for your shoes and muddy kit and a complete change of kit if you have PE later that day. Text reminders will go out beforehand. The championships is for all S1-3 pupils but any seniors wanting to sign up can do so with the PE department. Good luck to all those taking part.

S2 Netball Team

Good luck to the team for their next two Glasgow Schools’ League Games. 

S2/3 Netball Game

The S2/3 Netball Team are in the last 16 of the Scottish Gold Cup. This is a huge achievement for the school, we are after all the smallest school in the competition! We face a tough test against Eastwood High School next week. Good luck to the team. 

Cross-Country Race

Here’s a great opportunity to try out a cross-country race this month. Great for any age or ability. For anyone looking to do well in the SGG and/or Glasgow Schools’ Cross Country Championships then I recommend you do this race first. Entries will close soon!

Scottish Schools’ Indoor Athletics Team

Here’s the Scottish Schools’ Indoor Athletics Team 2020. Well done to the athletes selected. This event brings the best of the best athletes from around the country together for a two day competition. This is a great opportunity to record a personal best as well as develop race experience and build motivation and confidence for the year ahead. We will be training after school at the Emirates one night a week in preparation for this but this is open to all pupils looking to improve in their favourite event not just the athletes selected for this competition.

Senior Scottish Cup Gold Section

Good luck to the Senior Netball Team who are playing Holyrood Secondary tomorrow night in the Scottish Cup Gold Section. This is the first time an SGG senior team has reached the Gold Section so the girls have already surpassed any other Senior Team so a big congratulations to them. 

S2 Netball League Fixture

Good luck to the S2 Netball Team for their 2nd fixture in the Glasgow Schools’ Netball League. They play Hyndland tomorrow night.

Gold Section for our Seniors and S2/3 Netball Team and the Silver section for our S1s! This is absolutely amazing from our netball teams and the best Scottish Cup Performance from the School. The Seniors are against Holyrood Secondary (Glasgow) as are the S1s. The S2/3s are against Eastwood High School. Good luck to the teams in the knockout stages. 

PE Christmas Party 2019 🎄🎅

It’s that time of year again...CHRISTMAS! The PE department will again be hosting a christmas party open to all S1-6s and it’s on from 3.05-6.00pm. There will be netball, dodgeball, table tennis, fifa, food, sweets, juice and a christmas movie all for £5. Sign up at the PE Department.
