A massive congratulations to our cross-country runners who took part in the Scottish Schools' Championships at Hopetoun Estate in Edinburgh. This year's event was on a weekday which allows many more schools to take part in the competition. This meant that the fields were much bigger than what they have been at the same event for a few years. The highlights of the day were an outstanding performance from our teams in the B age groups. The girls team of Ameilia Shuttleworth, Kerry Stewart, Lucie Mills, Peggy-Nan Rodger, and Shona Carey finished in 5th place. The B boys also performed excellently with a 6th place overall. The boys team was: Fionn Graham, Cameron Weir, Joel MacInnes, Daniel Fraser, David Robertson. Well done to our D group runners too for participating on the biggest stage on the cross-country calendar. You guys will get better each year if you keep putting in the work.

Coronavirus
So if you're in one of my core PE classes, sqa class or you attend one of my after school clubs then I have set up a Microsoft Teams for everyone to use whilst off school. These will be used to post work out ideas for you to do whilst at home. I know that at this time that things are a bit uncertain but keep safe, stay at home. If you're going to workout outside then make sure you are doing it safely, with permission and you keep to the 2 metre distance rules.
If you need to contact me for any advice then my email is on glow, or on the Microsoft teams page.

Glasgow Schools’ Giant Heptathlon Champions!
A massive congratulations to our Giant Heptathletes who won the Glasgow Schools’ Championships 2020! The pupils worked incredibly hard to retain the title for the third year in a row in what was a very tough competition. No other school has retained the title so their achievement of three in a row is absolutely incredible, especially considering we are the smallest school in the whole competition! A huge thank you to the pupils for putting their full effort in to each event and being such great team mates to each other and fantastic ambassadors for the school! To top off the day the girls team retained the Relay Trophy for the 6th year in a row! Yes, 6! That’s as long as the competition has been running!
We also had a number or top three medal winners at the competition, and with over 100 boys and 100 girls involved that’s incredibly impressive:
Ewan Shot Putt Silver & 60m Silver
Ceitidh 60m Silver
Rhuna 600m Silver
Maisie Javelin Bronze
Isla 60m, Triple Jump and Shot Putt Gold & 60mH Silver
