Primary Rugby Success

Bha Hamish Smith (Clas 6, SGG) agus Robaidh Whyte (Clas 7, SGG) a’cluich airson an sgioba meanbh-rugbaidh c6/7 aig Hillhead-Jordanhill RFC ann an Bruach Chluaidh air Didòmhnaich.  Bhuainnaich an sgioba aca coig geamannan agus an fharpais fhèin.  Seo Robaidh (an darna fhear bhon clì) agus Hamish sa mheadhan le Jonny Gray bhon Glasgow Warriors aig an cùl.

Hamish Smith (P6) and Robaidh Whyte (P7) were playing for Hillhead-Jordanhill’s P6/7 mini rugby team on Sunday in Clydebank.  Their team won five games and the competition itself.  Here is Robaidh 2nd from left and Hamish in the middle, with Jonny Gray from the Glasgow Warriors behind them.

Scottish Schools Aquathon Championships

Abigail S1 and Amy S3 both represented SGG at the schools first attendance at the Scottish Schools Aquathon Championships.

The event took place in East Kilbride and involved a swim and a run. Abigail was up first and had the challenge of swimming 300m then a 2km run. Abigail was rapid in transition from the pool into running gear and out on the 2 lap hilly route. She did exceptionally well to finish in the top half of the field in 36th position. Abigail has another year in this age category so she'll be looking forward to giving it another go next year.

Amy had to face a 400m swim and a 3km run. Amy paced her self very well, coming out of the pool having held back slightly she motored through the field on the run. Amy's total time put her 14th overall which is a fantastic achievement. Amy also has another year to go at this age group.

Both girls performed very well despite it being their first Aquathon experience. Well done from all at SGG girls!

S2 Netball vs Rosshall

Both teams played some great netball, but it was in the 3rd quarter where SGG took the advantage. Morag McKirdy scored a brilliant 14 points in the game and secured the title for highest scoring player at Glasgow Gaelic for the season.

This was the S2s last game in the league. Congratulations to the girls for their hard work and dedication to the sport over the past year.  Their improvement and attitude has been fantastic.
